Technical Management
Case Study, by Uniteam Marine
MAINTAINING VESSELS TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
Uniteam Marine provides full technical management services for a variety of ship types, including tankers, bulk carriers, containers, and general cargo vessels. Drawing on a wealth of experience and expertise, our technical personnel offer in-depth knowledge of the industry and best management practices.
In all areas of technical management, we are committed to maintaining clients’ vessels to the highest standards in line with classification society and flag state requirements. We aim to ensure continuously safe and effective ship operations to the approval of owners and charterers.
This fundamental policy is enforced through our Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection Management system, in full compliance with the ISO Quality Assurance Standard, the International Safety Management Code, and the Maritime Labour Convention.
In today’s challenging international freight market, we also understand the need to prioritise OPEX budget control. To this end, we work closely with clients to agree maintenance plans and upgrading works in advance.
We use our worldwide network of established technical suppliers to negotiate favourable credit terms and repayment plans. In addition, and without compromising on quality, we look at ways to minimise cost and maximise profitability for our clients, continually assessing new options for cost management and control.
SAFE, TRANSPARENT, AND EFFICIENT
Our technical and QSE superintendents coordinate to effectively manage systems on board that limit risks in a highly regulated and competitive sector, taking the utmost care to protect the crew, the client’s asset, and the environment in which we operate.
Our technical superintendents and support personnel conduct regular inspections to ensure all maintenance works satisfy client expectations and compliance criteria. Since the organisation’s foundation, our technical team has grown to provide exceptional continuity of service and enable partnerships with onboard personnel and suppliers.
As part of our proactive approach, we regularly share our knowledge with clients to ensure their ships are managed and operated safely, transparently, economically, and effectively. This includes offering advice on fuel efficiency measures, such as engine retrofitting, bow modifications, and energy management.
We provide expert training to keep
our team's skills sharp and up-to-date
