Environmental Initiatives

Maritime shipping plays a vital role in global trade but also contributes to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and the overall carbon footprint. Recognising this, Uniteam Marine, in collaboration with Stiftunglife, launched a project in 2023 to actively reduce our environmental impact. As part of this initiative, we began planting mangrove trees for each seafarer aboard our vessels and each shore-based team member on their birthdays. By the end of the year and into 2024, we had planted 5,000 trees. Mangroves were chosen for their exceptional ability to sequester carbon and naturally protect coastlines, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and resilience in the maritime industry.
